Learning English is a gradual process
It is no different than learning piano or instruments, it requires persistent effort, the right strategies, and a patient teacher.
Our meticulously crafted ELL program is the product of many years of teaching ELL. This is a supplementary course to the schools’ ELL program. It uses a systematic approach to target vocabulary enlargement, reading and writing skill enhancements, and North American literature and cultural exploration.
Some of the unique features
01
Math and science present significant challenges for ELL students. Social studies in particular may be especially limiting. The restriction caused by insufficient vocabulary and comprehension results in poor to unacceptable academic performance. We aim to alleviate this problem by integrating math and science vocabulary into ELL 1 and 2 courses. Our courses help students with their homework and class assignments to ensure they stay on track.
02
We help students break out of the negative feedback cycle. Students may be hesitant to read because of the challenges it presents, causing them to remain stagnant. Our courses utilize skill appropriate readings to promote confidence. Our teachers assign readings in various styles, for prose to poems, for in-class analysis. After class, the teachers provide additional reading recommendations.
03
Two of the main challenges in standard English classes are literary analysis and writing. ELL students often struggle due to comprehension and writing limitations. Our courses prepare students by incorporating literary analysis in ELL 2 and 3.
04
Constructive feedback from tutors, weekly vocabulary quiz, and monthly exam are incorporated in all ELL courses.
